It is with great excitement that we share the appointment of Takashi Maeda as Hitachi Sunway Information Systems (‘Hitachi Sunway’) new Chairman and Director. Effective April 1, 2022, Mr. Maeda will take over from Naofumi Ito who served as Chairman and Director since January 1, 2019.
“We are excited to have Maeda san on board and, we look forward to his leadership and guidance. We hope to leverage on his extensive background and experience to drive Hitachi Sunway to new heights. I believe this is the right time for us to execute new strategies for Hitachi Sunway to achieve our FY2022-2024 Mid-term Management Plan. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank Ito san for his valuable contribution to the success of Hitachi Sunway as Chairman and Director” says Hiromi Nakashima, Hitachi Sunway Information Systems Group CEO and Director.
Mr. Maeda career at Hitachi spanned for 35 years. He joined Hitachi Electronics Services, Co., Ltd. in 1987, specializing in field support and maintenance services for Hitachi’s IT products as well as other vendors. In 2011, he expanded his role to strategy planning in the newly established, Hitachi Systems, Ltd. Mr. Maeda was promoted to General Manager in 2015 to lead the IT platform solution business in Industrial & Distribution sector. And in 2018, he was further promoted to Division General Manager. In 2020, Mr. Maeda was appointed to Executive Officer of Hitachi Systems to supervise the entire IT platform related businesses including maintenance services.

And sustainably expand the business by bringing in strategic Hitachi technologies and knowledge that will be able to benefit our customers and the industry. I am looking forward to leading Hitachi Sunway to achieve many more new milestones" says Mr. Maeda.
