2019 went by in a jiffy as 2020 marks Hitachi Sunway 7th year of establishment. And, as I close another year in the books, I would like to begin the new year (chapter) with my sincere thanks to you and all our key stakeholders who have contributed in helping Hitachi Sunway move forward.
Opportunities and challenges in the global market continue to abound, as businesses face disruption from changing customer expectations, new sources of competition and rapidly-emerging technologies. Companies either thrive, survive, or erode, especially in a world that is constantly changing. This is a time when it is dangerous to stay contented.
Changes in technology are reshaping our customers’ world as well as IT industry. The evolutionary changes in technology have forced us to re-evaluate our services and the way we deliver them to make our customers more agile and automated. We noticed that some traditional services offerings have been recast in a very different way.
We will continue to endeavour and contribute to the prosperity of our customers business. And, over the last year, I have been meeting with leaders at many companies in the region to learn how Hitachi Sunway could take our offerings to the next level – by understanding our customers business, their challenges and our team service level. “We want Hitachi Sunway to be our customers first choice for every IT initiatives they take, and we will put in the work needed to get there.”
A quick recap of some of our noteworthy milestones in 2019:-
- Collaborates with Sunway University, Sunway Group IT, PIKOM CyberSecurity Chapter and RSA to champion and accentuate the development of cybersecurity talents, as well as to strengthen cybersecurity expertise in Malaysia.
- Secured our first SAP Success Factor and application development outsourcing project in Indonesia. And, successfully closed our biggest Siemens deal in Indonesia, which is also the biggest deal for Engineering Solutions division in 2019!
- MOU sealed with Vietnam Thuyloi University and Thai Nguyen University of Technology to join forces in developing the Industrial Laboratory 4.0. This partnership marks a continuation of our Industry 4.0 efforts with other academia in the region.
- Established Applications Offshore division in Vietnam, focusing on software development e.g. SAP ABAP, .Net etc.
- Our Thailand team received Siemens Top Partner Award FY2018 (ASEAN). The team will continue to strive for excellence!
- Singapore team successfully won the first 3D Printer deal, which is also a first for Hitachi Sunway!

First and foremost, we are reshaping our business units to ensure they are equipped to take advantage of emerging trends in growing markets and drive greater collaboration, leveraging and aligning our strengths and diversity to focus on your business and needs.
Our customers come to us with confidence that we have the expertise and solutions to help them solve problems and propel their business to the next level. Hence, we will rigorously review our offerings, actively forge strong partnerships, continuously upgrade our skills set and service delivery level to surpass our customers expectations. We aim to provide customers with leading technologies, superior customer service and excellent execution.
OUR 2020 AGENDA
We will be launching a brand new series of cloud services, named eXcel with the lowest TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), introduce new solutions offerings such as 3D printing, BaaS (Blockchain-as-a-Service), cybersecurity services, enterprise website security, integrated operations management solution and others. In addition, I am also excited to share that we will have a bigger team as Hitachi Systems Digital Services (Malaysia) have entered into business integration with us. Together, we will be operating as one under Hitachi Sunway, effective January 1, 2020. Please join me to welcome Hitachi Systems Digital Services (Malaysia) to Hitachi Sunway big family.
