Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS)

Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS)

Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS), is a method of offsite data storage in which files, folders, or the entire contents of a hard drive are regularly backed up by a service vendor to a remote secure cloud-based data repository over a network connection.

Baas is a way of storing data remotely in the cloud and having the service provider provide and manage the necessary backup and recovery infrastructure, software, and support services. Using backup as a service enables organizations to eliminate capacity overprovisioning and long CapEx purchasing cycles and switch to OpEx subscription pricing. Just as importantly they can free up resources from infrastructure management to focus on more valuable work.
